Thank you for your interest in participating in the Maryland Student Venture Showcase in which 9 ventures will receive $50,000 each.

Each college/university in the Baltimore-area can submit 4 nominations for student ventures to participate in the competition.

To be considered, you must submit the following:

Executive Summary
Pitch deck. Suggested information to include: tagline/summary, problem statement, solution, team slide, customer discovery/competitive analysis, market sizing, business plan/go-to-market, appendix materials (including info on money raised/earned so far....max of 4 additional slides)
Recording of pitch (5-8 min). You can use loom, zoom, or any other software of choice.

Eligibility Requirements:

A member of the founding and current leadership team must be enrolled at a Baltimore-Towson-Columbia MSA college or university at the time of application.
The venture must be a tech-enabled business leveraging some innovation in technology. This includes companies that are building/ have built a new technology, or companies that utilize technological advancement to deliver a new product or service.
The venture must be incorporated as a business. (LLC, 501c3, or other entities accepted) Incorporation can happen within 60 days of notice of award.

Nov 8 - Intent to Participate closes Nov 8
Nov 17 – Pitch deck and pitch video due
Nov 30 - Nominations by school reps due
Dec 2-4 - UpSurge to package for review
Dec 17 - Jan 3 - External review committee scores (3 weeks over the holidays)
Jan 13 - Tentative date to notify selected awardees (request materials for press release)
Jan 15 - Press release announcement
Jan 20 - Feb 14 - Offer pitch coaching, mentor matching
Feb 18, 19 or 20 - MD Student Venture Showcase
